ZVA Vice President Sylvia Alps Elected to ECOO Public Affairs and Economic Committee

Sylvia Alps, Vice President of the German Central Association of Opticians (ZVA), was elected as a new member of the Public Affairs and Economic Committee (PAEC) within the European Council of Optometry and Optics (ECOO). The election occurred during the ECOO autumn conference held from October 16 to 18, 2026, in Billund, Denmark. Alps succeeds ZVA President Kai Jaeger on the committee, which addresses political, regulatory, and economic frameworks for the European optical industry. According to the association, this appointment aims to strengthen the representation of German optician interests in European professional policy and economic decision-making processes. Alps previously joined the ZVA executive board in spring 2026.
