Schneider Showcases Autonomous Lens Manufacturing Technology at DigiCON 2026

Schneider Optical Machines hosted DigiCON 2026 in July at its facilities in Fronhausen and Marburg, Germany, welcoming over 250 industry professionals from 50 countries. The event focused on the company’s vision for “lights-off production,” an autonomous manufacturing environment designed to address labor shortages, rising costs, and complex delivery expectations through AI integration. Key announcements included the world premiere of a fully integrated inline coating solution creating a single connected production chain from blank to finished lens, a new photochromic lens production solution using precision 3D inkjet technology, and Modulo ZERO, which addresses alloy-free blocking in high-speed surfacing. Additional showcases featured a new automated warehousing system, the Modulo Center One Pro surfacing concept, and the HSE Modulo One edging system.
