Rodenstock Introduces AI-Based B.I.G. NORM™ Lenses to Expand Biometric Vision Access

In April 2022, Rodenstock announced the launch of B.I.G. NORM™ lenses, an artificial intelligence-driven product line designed to provide biometric precision without requiring individual eye scans. While the company’s existing DNEye® technology creates custom lenses using several thousand measurement points from a specialized scanner, this new approach utilizes a data pool of 500,000 biometric eye measurements to generate accurate models based solely on standard refractive values. This innovation allows wearers who lack access to precise scanning equipment to benefit from improved progressive lens performance. The move supports Rodenstock’s "B.I.G. VISION™ FOR ALL" philosophy by making biometric lens technology more widely available, complementing the higher-precision B.I.G. EXACT™ series which remains dependent on direct DNEye® measurements.
