Unofficial Even G2 flasher tool restricts updates to official firmware

An independent browser tool for Even Realities G2 glasses and R1 ring began publishing only official firmware images on October 9, explicitly excluding custom builds. The project’s README states it offers all 16 archived official G2 SHA-256 values and 12 signed Nordic Secure DFU releases for the R1 ring, while barring bootloader unlocking and owner-key replacement. Even Realities has no involvement in this third-party initiative. The tool utilizes Web Bluetooth for glasses and Web Serial or WebUSB for the charging case, requiring local backups of case flash and identity snapshots before any write operations. It functions as a recovery and reinstall utility rather than a dead-temple repair solution, as stock case firmware lacks commands to revive unresponsive temples. All version labels are the project’s own, not vendor release notes.
