German Bundesrat Approves Expansion of Vision Test Authority to Opticians for Truck and Bus Drivers

The German Bundesrat approved the "First Ordinance Amending the Professional Driver Qualification Ordinance" on July 10, enabling optician businesses to conduct vision checks for professional truck and bus drivers. This decision by the upper house of parliament clears the path for including optical shops in the mandatory medical fitness assessments required for these driving license classes.
