VANNI Publishes Second Impact Report Detailing 2023 Life Cycle Assessment of Eyewear

VANNI released its second Impact Report, outlining 2023 projects aligned with its "Società Benefit" objectives established in 2022. The report highlights a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted by Bicocca University of Milan and Liito on the V1632 eyewear model. This "cradle to gate" analysis measured CO2 emissions from raw material extraction through production to warehouse arrival. Results showed 2.35 kg of CO2 for the Italian-manufactured pair, significantly lower than the estimated 4.45 kg if produced in Asia, an 89% difference attributed largely to intercontinental transport impacts. VANNI states this model represents its broader acetate glasses production. The company positions these findings as a baseline for future sustainability improvements rather than a final goal.
