Henau Announces Birdies Collection with Four Acetate Frames Inspired by Birds

Belgian design house Henau announced the Birdies collection on October 19, 2026, featuring four acetate frames named after birds: ARA, FINCA, KEA, and PICA. The series includes two round models (ARA, FINCA) and two softened square models (KEA, PICA), offering twenty colorways in total. All frames are manufactured in Japan using cellulose acetate, sharing a consistent temple curve and a finish that transitions from matte at the top to polished at the bottom. Designer Jan Vandierendonck stated each bird has its own song, mirroring the distinct silhouettes for different faces. The announcement highlights a shift toward more spontaneous forms while maintaining the brand’s architectural aesthetic.
