AAVC Report Finds Broad Support for Vision Coverage Among Consumers and Employers
Consumers and Employers Agree Vision Coverage Helps Keep Care Affordable, Study Finds
The Alliance for Affordable Vision Care released "Keeping Vision Care Within Reach," a report based on surveys conducted in July and August 2026. Findings indicate that 90 percent of employers are satisfied with the value of vision benefits, while 82 percent of covered adults say coverage meets their needs. Cost remains a barrier, as 84 percent of uninsured consumers who did not seek care cited cost as a main or contributing factor. Both groups expressed concern about legislative changes potentially increasing costs; 74 percent of consumers and 83 percent of employers believe officials should prioritize affordability. The study surveyed 4,027 employed adults and 201 benefits decision-makers. VSP Vision is noted as a funder of the coalition.
