Academia Optomedica hosts second dialogue event in Düsseldorf to bridge optician and ophthalmologist gaps

Epitop founder Amir Parasta organized the second Academia Optomedica event in late August 2026 at a Düsseldorf hotel, aiming to foster collaboration between opticians and ophthalmologists. Although twenty people registered, only ten attended, including practitioners from Cologne, Oldenburg, Wülfrath, and Essen. The discussion highlighted persistent divergent perspectives, with one ophthalmologist showing reluctance toward Epitop’s new "Care Board" platform for sharing screening results and patient data. Parasta emphasized that understanding mutual concerns remains the primary goal over standardizing processes. Future sessions are scheduled for Nuremberg on October 15, Stuttgart on November 12, and Munich on January 28, 2027, preceding the Opti trade fair.
