ZVA Adds Myopia Management Chapter to Optical Quality Guidelines

The Central Association of Opticians and Optometrists (ZVA) has expanded its Working and Quality Guidelines for Ophthalmic Optics and Optometry (AQRL) with a standalone chapter on myopia management. These new standards define professional requirements for quality-assured care of children and adolescents with progressive myopia. The guidelines cover the entire process, ranging from risk analysis and the selection of suitable treatment options to systematic follow-up monitoring. This update establishes specific criteria for managing progressive myopia within the German optical market framework.
