Silmo Paris Announces Ten Nominees for 2026 Optical Design Contest

Silmo Paris has announced the ten finalists for its 2026 Optical Design Contest, selected from global student entries under the theme “The Future of Optics: What Vision?” The jury is chaired by designer Olivier Lapidus. The nominated projects include adaptive sports eyewear, smart frames with heart-rate sensors for children, and biodegradable mycelium-based designs. These concepts will be showcased at the Silmo Paris exhibition, scheduled for September 25–28 at Paris Nord Villepinte. One overall winner will receive a €10,000 prize, split equally between the student and their educational institution. The announcement highlights Silmo’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and exploring innovative uses in optics through experimental design.
