Report: Meta Accelerates Plans for Binocular Ray-Ban Display Successor to Launch This Year

According to The Information, Meta is accelerating plans to launch a successor to the current monocular Meta Ray-Ban Display later this year, moving up from previous reports citing a 2027 release. The new device, internally codenamed Hypernova 2, is expected to feature binocular displays, addressing limitations of the current US-exclusive model which uses only the right lens. While earlier supply-chain analyses suggested a 2027 timeline, recent reports indicate Meta executives are concerned about confusing customers with too many rapid releases, particularly given upcoming Horizon OS headset and true AR glasses plans.
