Acuité Polls Optical Retailers on Business Impact Following Nationwide Store Looting

Acuité launched a survey asking optical store owners to characterize their business activity during the week of October 19, following severe unrest and targeted looting across France that affected dozens of optical shops. The publication reports that precautionary early closures and reduced pedestrian traffic in metropolitan city centers have complicated retail operations this week. The poll aims to measure the specific impact of these events on the profession's activity levels. Additionally, Acuité is conducting a separate survey asking retailers whether they plan to open their stores on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
