Meta Delays International Rollout of Ray-Ban Display Glasses Due to Demand; Launches Handwriting Feature in US Early Access
Meta Rolls Out Neural Band Handwriting Recognition, Delays International Plan
Meta has paused its planned international expansion of Ray-Ban Display Glasses with Neural Band to the UK, France, Italy, and Canada, originally scheduled for early 2026. The company cited "unprecedented demand and limited inventory," noting that product waitlists now extend well into 2026 as it focuses on fulfilling US orders. Concurrently, Meta launched a handwriting recognition feature in Early Access in the United States for English users, allowing message sending via WhatsApp and Messenger by writing on any surface while wearing the Neural Band. Additionally, pedestrian navigation support was expanded to Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, and Salt Lake City, and a phased rollout began for a new teleprompter feature.
