A fire broke out on the roof of a historic building in Paris's 13th arrondissement, which is being renovated to become EssilorLuxottica’s future headquarters by 2028. The incident occurred on Thursday morning in the Austerlitz district. Approximately 100 firefighters and 30 vehicles were deployed to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported, and workers from the Bouygues-managed site were evacuated calmly. The building, owned by Crédit Agricole, previously served the neighboring train station. The cause of the fire remains unknown. After technical verification and securing the infrastructure, renovation work is expected to resume quickly. The completed headquarters will accommodate up to 2,000 employees.
