Svensk Handel CEO Visits Synsam Secondhand Workshop in Spånga

On September 17, Sofia Larsen, CEO of Svensk Handel, visited Synsam’s secondhand workshop in Spånga to observe the refurbishment of returned eyeglass frames. The facility processes frames from Synsam’s subscription returns and other donations, cleaning, adjusting, and quality-checking reusable items for resale or rental across Nordic stores. Non-reusable materials are sent for recycling or energy recovery. Since autumn 2025, secondhand offerings have been available in all Synsam stores throughout the Nordics. During the visit, Krister Duwe, CEO of Synsam Sweden, emphasized integrating circular trade into daily business operations. Unni Olldén, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Synsam Group, highlighted the high craftsmanship standards required for vision aids. Larsen noted that secondhand sales have become an established part of Swedish commerce, with more retailers incorporating used products into standard store activities.
