Peter Frankenstein has left his role as head of the Consumer Optics division at the German industry association Spectaris after 28 years. The departure, which occurred in late July, was confirmed by a farewell email from Frankenstein to eyebizz editor-in-chief Jörg Mayer and other industry participants. Frankenstein stated that their paths would likely not cross again in this life but expressed hope for future meetings filled with laughter. Spectaris Managing Director Jörg Mayer noted he had planned to retire alongside Frankenstein. While the Trendforum event did not take place this year, sources indicate this cancellation is unrelated to Frankenstein’s exit.
