Zeiss: Projekte gegen Versorgungslücken weltweit
On October 8, during World Sight Day, Zeiss emphasized ongoing deficits in global eye care access. The company supports initiatives in underserved regions to facilitate examinations, glasses, and treatments. Citing WHO data, Zeiss noted that at least 2.2 billion people have vision impairments, with one billion cases being preventable or treatable. In India and Nepal, the Aloka Vision Programme examined over 1.9 million people and distributed 23,985 pairs of glasses between April 2025 and March 2026. Additionally, Zeiss backed Sight for Life in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where more than 90 surgeries and 700 other treatments were performed during a one-week initiative.
