ClearVision Optical Survey Highlights Importance of Lightweight Eyewear Among ECPs

ClearVision Optical surveyed approximately 500 eyecare professionals (ECPs) regarding lightweight eyewear trends. Nearly 9 in 10 respondents rated the category as "very important" or "somewhat important," with similar proportions carrying such frames. When defining lightweight eyewear, 78% cited titanium, while 62% focused on weight itself. Comfort and a lightweight feel were the primary reasons patients choose these frames, noted by nearly 80% of ECPs, followed by all-day wearability at 52%. However, durability remains a concern; respondents rated lightweight frame durability at an average of 5.6 out of 10, indicating perceived trade-offs between comfort and strength. The report suggests balancing material flexibility with durability when selecting inventory.
