solaero launches non-polarized aviation eyewear online

Founded in March 2026 by ATPL students Dominic Tirschmann and Timothy Spezia, solaero released its Eleva­tion Series of pilot-specific eyewear in July. The collection features six models in 16 color variants, sold initially via the brand’s online shop with future optician partnerships planned. Constructed from aerospace titanium for flexibility and lightness, the frames are designed to fit under aviation headsets without compromising noise cancellation. A key distinction is the deliberate exclusion of polarized lenses; the founders cite aviation authority warnings that polarization can obscure cockpit displays, windshield patterns, and traffic lights. The hero model, Nomaed, anchors this "Accessible Premium" line, which aims to translate classic design into functional comfort for pilots while maintaining hypoallergenic properties.
