American Designer Sophia Denison Wins 2026 Optical Design Contest with "Dreamscape" Prototype

The 2026 Optical Design Contest, chaired by French designer Olivier Lapidus, awarded its top prize to American designer Sophia Denison for her prototype eyewear model, "Dreamscape." A recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, Denison designed the frames to counter digital overstimulation by using visual distortion to encourage present-moment awareness. She currently works as an assistant designer at Press Eyewear under Jeff Press. This victory follows her winning the Sergio Cerdea eyewear design award at Mido two years prior. Denison stated that these accolades significantly launched her career in the optical industry.
