Atol launches eKonnect audio-only smart glasses at €99 amid market growth
Atol se lance sur le marché des lunettes connectées avec eKonnect
On November 2, 2026, French optical retailer Atol launched eKonnect, audio-only smart glasses priced at €99. The device features Bluetooth 5.4, two high-definition speakers, and an eight-hour battery life, explicitly excluding cameras to maintain environmental awareness. It supports calls, music, podcasts, and smartphone voice assistants without manual interaction. The frames are lightweight, adaptable for prescription lenses, compatible with category 3 polarized sunglasses, and splash-resistant. To support the release, Atol deployed dedicated smart eyewear spaces in over 300 stores across France, allowing customers to try on frames and receive optician advice on fit and vision adaptation. This launch occurs as IDC reports global shipments of screenless smart glasses reached 2.25 million units in Q1 2026, a 167% year-on-year increase.
