Optical Store Revenue in France Grows 1% Year-on-Year in September 2026, Driven by Commercial Activity Zones

French optical store revenue increased by 1% year-on-year in September 2026, following a 1.7% rise in August. This growth masks significant disparities across different locations. Stores in commercial activity zones (ZAC) performed best with a 2.6% increase, while city-center stores rose by 1.5%. Conversely, shopping centers saw a 1.6% decline after strong August performance. Overall, 56.2% of points of sale reported higher activity. The September result marks the second consecutive month of growth since a low point of -8% in May 2026. However, October activity was noted as particularly disrupted, suggesting this positive trend may not continue into the next month.
